Christmas is over, but the holiday daze still chains me to my bed, hence why „previously on..“ is my most heard sentence in the last few days. I’ll be ringing in the new year with Sheldon, Harvey Spector and the Kardashians.
So in that spirit: previously on „my current collection“.
I’m not very picky with eyeliners. I don’t believe in finding that holy grail liquid eyeliner, because I get bored with them very easily. BUT, and there’s a big butt (hehe) when it comes to pencils. If you put something in your waterline it makes a huge difference depending on which one you use, I hate seeing my eye makeup disappear in the span of 5 seconds. If you’re only going to use that pencil to smudge the hell out of a smokey eye, everything you have lying around will do. The Urban Decay 24/7 glide on eye pencil in perversion is magic. The application, pigmentation and staying power will change your life. The difference in quality between the one from Gosh that’s also on the picture above is ridiculous. I think you can guess which one of them has the „always carrying around in my handbag“ status.
Lately i only used felt tip liners, because i was all about that „in 5 minutes out of the door makeup“ and it’s easier managable if you did your wings to fast and end up with racoon eyes, so you won’t feel like having a good cry about it. The downside: it’s ridiculous how fast they run out. We all know how awful stray hairs on felt tip liners are since coloring in kindergarden. It’s the same with this grown up girl toy. Even if there’s a tiny bit of color left before it runs out you won’t be able to achieve that sharp edge to get compliments like people saying your makeup is „on fleek“. The feltliners I used were the Soap & Glory Supercat, the Bourjois Intuitive Liner and the L’Oréal Superliner.
I had my strongest eyeliner game a few years back when I used the Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner and the brush that comes with it. It’s a lot more effort, but worth it, I might have to give it a try again.
Recently I rediscovered my love for basic liquid liners. The ones with the bigger tip. Those. Technically the IQ Liquid Eyeliner one belongs to my flatmate but it was lying around in the bathroom and things happened. In my opinion the brand doesn’t really matter, the cheaper the better, because I find that I achieve the best results when they are fresh and new and … moist. I told you things happened in that bathroom.
What’s your experience with black eyeliners, did you find your holy grail? Have a lovely NYE and a good start to 2016 , see you soon xx
